Annapurna Base Camp trek is one of the popular treks in Nepal. which lies on the Mid-western side of Nepal, near Pokhara. Most of the trekkers are doing this trek who has short vacation and wand to explore Himalaya in the limited time. It can be doable for beginners who didnt trek before. The trails start from Naya pul which is 40 kilometer from Pokhara than follow the river bank of Modi Khola till to Annapurna Base Camp. There is uphill and downhill during the days when you trek, most of the part is uphill and the back way will be easier downhills.
In the beginning part, trek offers the views of typical Gurung Village, agriculture farm, peaceful forest with Bamboo, Oak, Pines, rhododendron, tiny hamlets. An upper part, trek offers the views of huge Himalayan views of Annapurna south, Hiuchuli, Machhapuchhre, Gangapurna, Annapurna I, Barashikhar and many more peaks. Accomodation
The accommodations during the trek are on twin sharing basis with inclusive cost and are chosen based on standard of hygiene food and suitable location. Most of the Lodges has clean rooms and separate Bathrooms. We will use small lodge during the trek and 2/3 star category Hotel in Kathmandu and Pokhara. We also provide 3/4/5 star hotel on your request.
Meals
The meal on full board basis will be served during the trek in the mountains. Three meals in a day will be served from the tea house or from the lodge menus but the meals in this particular route are expected to be great meals. Each day's dinner and breakfast will be served in the same lodge we spend the night. Lunch will be taken on the way to destination at a tea shop. Breakfasts will be served in Kathmandu/Pokhara as well.
Day 1 : Arrival to Kathmandu and Transfer to Hotel
When you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), our company representative will welcome you and drive towards the designated hotel. After a rest for a while, we will give a short briefing about our program and you will be provided with a Typical Nepali welcome Dinner in the evening.
Day 2 : Guided Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley
Next day, we provide sightseeing guided by an expert to visit many beautiful places listed in the UNESCO heritage sites such as the Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swoyambhunath Stupa, Durbar Square and many more.
Day 3 : Drive/Fly to Pokhara
Today you can take a tourist coach from Kathmandu to Pokhara by scenic Prihivi high way which will take you about 6 hour drive including a time for lunch on the way. The Bus will drop you to the hotel. Welcome drinks will be served in hotel than short time for refreshment. In the evening you can go for boating trip on Phewa Lake will follow where you can enjoy the spectacular views of Annapurna Himalayan Range reflected in all it's glory in the calm green waters of the lake and visit the Barahi temple which is only accessible by boat. f you take a flight, it takes only 45 minute. Day 4 : Drive to Nayapul 1hrs- Trek to Tikhedhunga 1540m./4hrs.
After Breakfast at Hotel, We begin our trek at Nayapul after 1 hour driving by tourist vehicle from Pokhara. After 20 minutes short walk along the bank of the Modi Khola, we reach Birethanti (1015meters) a large village that has many shops and teahouses. From there, the trail continues through the village. The trail follows the north bank of the Bhurungdi Khola. From there, the trail climbs steadily up the side of the valley to Hille at 1495m and after the short climb, we reach Tikhedhunga at 1570meters. Today’s walk offers a short and relatively easy day, during the journey which allows us to become used to the experience of trekking in Nepal. Overnight at guesthouse. (BLD)
Day 5 : Trek to Ghorepani 2870m./7hrs.
Leaving Tikhedunga, we begin our journey with a steep climb to Ulleri. Ulleri is a large Magar village at 2070meters. The trail then continues to ascend more gently, through fine forests of oak and rhododendrons towards Banthanti at 2250meters. Then we trek towards Nangethanti at 2460m. After an hour of walking this brings you to Ghorepani at 2840meters. Overnight at guesthouse. (BLD)
Day 6 : Climb Poon Hill 3210m.-Trek to Tadapani 2660m./6hrs.
Today is a special day because we conquer Poon Hill- an icon of Annapurna region. We climb the steep trail to the viewpoint of Poon Hill (3210mtrs). The efforts will be rewarded with spectacular views of Machhapuchre, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and the Annapurnas. After taking photos and having some coffee, tea or hot chocolate, we return back to Gorepani. After breakfast, we head east and climb a nearby ridge. We descend through rhododendron forest, pass by spectacular waterfalls along the way and reach Tadapani for overnight. BLD.
Day 7 : Trek to Chhomrong 2170m./5-6hrs.
From Tadapani, we make a steep descent through the dense and dark forest. The route passes through the west bank of the Modi Khola. Then we descent steeply down the village of Chuile coming over to the Kimrong Khola. Then a steep climb continuing up to Chhomrong. Towering above the village is the mighty peak of Annapurna South, with the Fishtail Mountain (Machhapuchhare) facing it across the valley. Chhomrong is a beautiful village located on the lap of giant Annapurna massive. Overnight in Chhomrong. BLD.
Day 8 : Trek to Dovan 2580m./6hrs.
We head out of Chhomrong along the Modi Khola leaving behind inhabited foothills into the high step and wooded slopes of Himalayas. We cross the suspension bridge then trek up to Sinuwa Danda. The ascent from Sinuwa becomes somewhat flatter. The trail passes through thick & dark rhododendron forest up to Khuldighar. Then the track passes through deep bamboo and rhododendron forest to the village of Dovan. BLD.
Day 9 : Trek to Deurali 3230m./6hrs.
The day starts with gentle gradual ascend following the trail above the river through a thick bamboo, oak and rhododendron forests up the side of the canyon. We cross two streams over small bridges. The trail passes through solitary places. The nature's wilderness gives piece to our mind. There is also the possibility of seeing a variety of species of wildlife such as wild pig, deer, snow leopard, etc. Overnight in Deurali. BLD.
Day 10 : Trek to Machhapuchre Base Camp 3700m./3-4hrs.
Today we start our trek to Machhapuchre Base Camp (MBC). The trail climbs gently through a river bed and then it rises steeply over the mountain side. There are also avalanche prone areas at some point on the trail. After about half an hour's walk from Deurali, we will find ourselves in middle of river bed surrounded by giant snow-covered mountains. When the sun rises, the snow on mountains shine and river valley is filled with warm sun rays. The hike to MBC is somewhat strenuous but the unfolding views of the majestic Machhapuchre are certainly a rewarding experience. Overnight in MBC. BLD.
Day 11 : Trek to Annapurna Base Camp 4130m./2-3 hrs.
On the way to ABC from MBC, the vegetation disappears. We will see the snow boulders melting and forming small streams. The path widens as we enter the Sanctuary, follows a stream, and then climbs to a few huts alongside a moraine. There are sensational views of the near-vertical south face of Annapurna towering above the sanctuary. Annapurna Base Camp sanctuary boasts of a dynamic view without anything impeding panorama of the 360 degrees. The Machhapuchre, Annapurna south, Annapurna I, Hiuchuli and other peaks. Climax of our trip almost ends today. Overnight in Annapurna Base Camp (4130m/13550ft). BLD.
Day 12 : Trek back to Bamboo 2310m./ 6-7hrs.
We wake up at ABC and savor the magnificent sunrise over the Himalayas. Today, we start descending from ABC to MBC, Deurali, Dovan and finally to Bamboo. Heading back down to the valley is must easier than climbing up. Waterfalls cascading down the 500 foot granite faces on both sides to the forest below and great views of Fishtail and Hiuchuli are today's attraction. Overnight in Bamboo. BLD.
Day 13 : Trek to Jhinu Hot Spring. 1760m./6hrs.
From Bamboo we trek back to Sinuwa and then descend to Lower Chomrong. Then ascend on the thousand stony steps taking us to Upper Chomrong. From Chomrong we take a different route and instead of going to Ghandruk, we descend to Jhinu Danda. We get opportunity to enjoy hot springs lying just a 15-min walk from Jhinu Danda. Overnight in Jhinu Dada. BLD.
Day 14 : Trek to Nayapul 5hrs.-Drive to Pokhara 1hrs.
We trek from Jhinu danda to New bridge and then to Kyumi village. After lunch we trek to Syauli bazar and then down to Birethanti. From Birethanti, a half-an-hour's trek takes us to Naya Pul. The trek ends at Naya Pul. From Naya Pul we take a vehicle and reach Pokhara in about an hour and half by a private car or 2 hours by local bus. We might take opportunity to visit some more places around Pokhara until evening. Overnight in Pokhara. BL.
Day 15 : Pokhara Sightseeing
After Breakfast at Pokhara we will leave for pokhara sightseeing. Today we will visit Tibetan Refuse camp, Devi’s falls, Gupteshwor Cave, International Mountain Museum and some Local villages. In the evening time we will do short boating to visit the Tal Barahi Temple which located in the middle of Lake. Overnight at hotel. B.
Day 16 : Drive/Fly to Kathmandu (7hrs./40 Minute)
After breakfast at Besisahar, we take a tourist transport to Kathmandu through the Prithvi Highway and the bank of popular river, Trisuli. The last part of driving is uphill for a couple of hours before reaching Kathmandu valley.. Either you take a flight OR drive back to Kathmadu.
Day 17 : Departure
Company representatives drop the guests to the airport safely on time and see them off.
