Description
Ganjala/Naya kanga Peak (5,844 m.) is situated in the Langtang Valley, this peak is a shapely mountain that rises to the west of Ganjala pass. This is the nearest climbing peak from Kathmandu. We can drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi and start trekking to Lama Hotel, Langtang, Kyaingjing Gompa than Naya Khang Base Camp. Naya Khang 5,800m is one of the less climbed trekking peaks and does not require technical experience.
The normal route of ascent to Naya Khang is via the north - East Ridge over a line on ice and snow. We follow the route of Langtang trek to Kyangjin (3,749m) for the ascent of Naya Khang. To the north above Kyangjing, there are several hills that provide both the magnificent views and acclimatization. Northeast of Kyangjing Ri (4,700m), there are two peaks; Yala Peak (5,500m/18,045ft) and Tserko Peak (5,749m) that provide good climbing for acclimatization. We then trek through the summer settlement of Yala Khark, for an acclimatization climb of the very easy Yala peak 18045ft. before moving onto our base camp just below the crest of the Ganja la. We continue following the trail to Ganja La climbing steeply through moraine. We leave Ganja La trail to climb steeply up yet more moraine to reach the eastern end of the glacier shelf beneath the northeast face of Naya Khang (Ganja La). Himalaya Family Adventure is ready to organize this climb.
