Description

Pikey trek is a comfortable trekking route in Solu village with Pikey Peak 4,068m. in lowland of Everest Region. The name Pikey is derived from the two names of the Sherpa people. The Pikey trek is well known for majestic sunrises, the Himalayan range and of course sherpa culture.This trail through winds its way through Jiri, Chaulakharka and Ngaur, to reach the Pikey Danda (Hill) area. This trek is most popular for its sunrise and sunsets and views of the Himalayan range of Mt. Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjungha, Annapurna, Gauri Shankar, Lhotse, Lhotse Shar, Nuptse, Amadablam, Numbur, Khatang, Karyalung, Shishapangma, Mera Peak and Thamserku. This trek is popular for the wonderful Himalayan scenery including the mountains range as well as Rhododendron flower, Magnolia and wild orchids. Festival season is in August which includes a cleansing ritual; thousand of devotees walk to the lake for the festival from village all around Solukhumbu. You can also observe traditional Tibetan medicinal therapy, taste local food and drink here and enjoy a Sherpa cultural show performed on request.

 Accomodation

Himalaya Family provide the accommodations during the trek are on twin sharing basis with inclusive cost and are chosen based on standard of hygiene food and suitable location. Most of Lodges are well managed by rocks and wood in Everest areas. The Sherpa staffs are very friendly and kind. Most of the Lodges has clean rooms and separate Bathrooms. We will use small lodge during the trek and 2/3 star category Hotel in Kathmandu. We also provide 3/4/5 star hotel on your request.


 Meals

We will provide the Food on full board basis will be served during the trek in the mountains. Three meals in a day (Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner) will be served from the the lodge. The dinner and breakfast will be served in the same lodge we spend the night. Lunch will be taken on the way to destination at a tea houses. Breakfasts will be served in Kathmandu as well. Most of the lodges has the food menu, Our Guide will suggest you the organic and hygienic local meal. Everest region has very special potatoes items on their Menu and Sherpa stew is recommend for soup.


Day 1 : Arrival at Kathmandu and Transfer to Hotel
When you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), our company representative will welcome you and drive towards the designated hotel. After a rest for a while, we will give a short briefing about our program and you will be provided with a Typical Nepali welcome Dinner in the evening.

Day 2 : Guided Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley
Next day, we provide sightseeing guided by an expert to visit many beautiful places listed in the UNESCO heritage sites such as the Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swoyambhunath Stupa, Durbar Square and many more.

Day 3 : Kathmandu- Drive to Jiri-Bhandara 2220m./8hrs.
